ASSOCIATES MARK IBORI'S 53RD BIRHDAY
UGHELLI—Friends and associates, weekend, marked the 53rd birthday of
the former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, at his Oghara
country home, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.
Ibori is presently standing trial before a London court over alleged money laundering charges.
A cross section of Deltans, who spoke at the ceremony, described Ibori
as a detribalised Nigerian with uncommon ingenuity for the development
of Niger Delta in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
Those who
spoke included: Mr. Ayiri Emami, Mr. Henry Baro, National President of
Urhobo Youth Council, and his Deputy, Mr. Jaro Egbo.
Emami said Chief Ibori is a selfless and dedicated leader and prayed God to come to his rescue.
Baro
and Egbo said: “Chief James Ibori is a worthy Nigerian.” They prayed
God to iAntervene in his situation. They noted that Ibori is a true
representative of the Urhobo nation.
A former Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, chairman in the state, Dr. Pius Sinebe, expressed joy at the
large turn out of friends and associates, adding that Ibori contributed
immensely to the political advancement of the state and Nigeria in
general.
Earlier in his sermon, Rev. Gbejero prayed God to vindicate Chief Ibor
