Tricycle riders of Ogba/Aguda branch on Friday, staged a protest over the mismanagement of funds by its management.
The protest which came on the heels of the Local Govt planned ban on the usage of the Ogba/Aguda main road by the tricycle ridders, as triggered angry response from the Chairman of the Tricycle Ridders Association of Ogba/Aguda, as he lamented that the protest, staged by the riders will only do more harm than good, as this may lead to the full ban of the road usage by riders.
Interview with one of the riders by name Adebayo Oluwafemi, he said that the riders are been treated with disdain because they are mostly illiterate, who cannot fight for their rights, as they are caged with fear of been banned as was the case of the motorcycle riders last year.
However, this has led to the increment in the transportation fee, which was N50 from Ogba to Beggar, before the protest as passengers now pay N70 from Ogba to Beggar after the protest.
