Senate swears in two new Senators

 
The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 sworn in two new senators to represent their constituencies at the National Assembly, Abuja.

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Isaac Alfa was sworn in as Senator representing Kogi East senatorial district under platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, representing Imo North under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The new senators pledged their allegiance to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a related development, the bill for Federal Capital Territory Transport Authority and bill for Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria passed first reading at the senate on Tuesday.

Similarly, the bills for National Child Protection and Enforcement Agency; Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Act and Dishonoured Cheques Offences Act, also passed first reading.
