Rampaging militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, resumed its bombing activities on Tuesday, October 25.
The militant group blew up a Chevron offshore export pipeline at Escravos, Warri, Delta State.
Confirming the development, the group in a statement by its spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo, said the attack was carried out: “at about 3:45am, our strike team 06 took down Chevron Escravos export pipeline at Escravos offshore.
“This action is to further warn all IOCs’ that when we warn that there should be no repairs pending negotiation/dialogue with the people of the Niger Delta, it means there should be no repairs.
“Any attempt to use dialogue to distract us so as to allow the free flow of our oil will halt the dialogue process.” The statement added.
The Escravos pipeline is one of Nigeria’s top output points and could have very grave repercussions for an already ailing economy.
Meanwhile, the proposed negotiations between the Niger Delta Leaders and the Federal Government is scheduled for October 31, 2016.
