The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, November 23, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reinstate Eyitayo Jedede's name as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state.
Justice Saulawa nullified the proceedings of October 14 when Justice Abang ruled in favour of Jimoh Ibrahim, who belongs to the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party.
The presiding Judge ruled that INEC erred in recognizing Jimoh Ibrahim, adding that Jegede was the candidate that should contest the November 26 governorship election.
Furthermore, the Appellate Court dismissed all the objections filed by Mr. Ibrahim and his loyalists.
