A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu
Hirse, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.
A source told Daily Post that Ambassador Hirse was mistaken for Daura, an associate of President Muhammadu Bihari.
According to the source, “He was at Mamman Daura’s residence. He was mistaken for Daura and was abducted by the gunmen in the early hours of Sunday.
“As I speak, we don’t know his whereabouts and his mobile number cannot be reached. And nobody has called to even say he is in their custody.”
The source appealed to security operatives to ensure that the former Minister is released unharmed.
“You know he is an elderly man, we pray that he will be released unharmed. We we are appealing to security agencies to step up their action in making sure he is freed”. The source said.
Meanwhile as at the time of filing this report, no demand was said to have been made by his abductors.
