#TributeToYinkaAdeparusi: WSCIJ Pays Last Respect To Award Winning Photojournalist



Late Yinka Adeparusi.


Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), on Thursday, November 24, held a tribute service in honour of the late award winning photojournalist, Yinka Adeparusi.


The tribute service which took place at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism auditorium in Ogba, had various journalists in attendance.

Adeparusi, a photojournalist with online news platform, naij.com, reportedly died on the 13th of November in Abuja after an accident.

Speaking at the ceremony, investigative journalist, Simon Ateba stressed that the late Adeparusi was a great photojournalist who was very hardworking before his death.

In his words, "What to take from Yinka is that we should be hardworking and humble just like the deceased". Ateba opined.

Speaking also, photojournalist with Nigerian most read newspaper, Punch, Sodiq Adelakun said the deceased lived an exemplary life which is worth emulating.

According to him, "Yinka Adeparusi touched my life in a way that my life never remained the same again". Adelakun said.

Furthermore, the organizers of the event also revealed that a candle-night service will be held at the Lagos state University school of communication, Yaba  in honour of the late Yinka Adeparu on Friday(tomorrow), November 25.
