Lagos @50: Lagosians Speak On Their Success Story

By Blessing Odibo

As part of the activities marking the 50 years of Lagos, Gov. Ambode delivered some landmark projects, ranging from top class pedestrian bridges to lay-bys and segregated bus terminals which was commissioned between May 15 and  May 19, 2017.

When governor Ambode assumed office on May 29, 2015, one of the first steps he took was to visit the major traffic flashpoints in the state and together with his team, he worked out ingenious strategies not only to ensure free flow of traffic, but also to change the aesthetics of Lagos for good.

Two years into the administration, the result of the interventions of the Ambode administration is visible across the state.

Pleased with the development, some Lagosians have aired their views on the new face of Lagos under the administration of Ambode.

One of the side attractions of the celebration is ‘#MyLagosStory’, where prominent Nigerians from all walks of life share their colorful stories of the city of Lagos.

Successful people like Aliko Dangote, Victor Olaiya, Folorunsho Alakija, EA Adeboye, and a host of others have given their opinion on how Lagos has impacted their lives and also became part of their journey to greatness.

Just like prominent Nigerians from all walks of life have shared their colorful stories of the city of Lagos, some residents of Ogba community have also revealed how Lagos has impacted in their lives.

While the Lagos state governor has been praised in some quarters for his landmark achievements, he has also been criticized by some Lagosians.
